Imago is a bulk image processor with two main modes:
- Basic conversion: Convert RAW, TIFF, PNG, etc. → JPEG (or other formats) – completely free, no credits/API needed
- AI enhancement: Use Google's Gemini AI to colorize old photos, change backgrounds, add birthday themes, create candid looks, upscale, retouch, etc.
You organize enhancements by putting images in folders with a prompt.txt file containing your instructions.
You have two main choices:
- Professional (one-time payment) — Use your own Google Gemini API key. You only pay Google's API usage fees.
- Credits model — Buy credits from us. Each AI-enhanced image consumes credits (basic conversion is always free).
No subscription required in either case — pay once or buy credits as you need them.

Very simple folder-based system:
- Create subfolders inside your main source folder (e.g. "Birthday Theme", "Colorize Old Photos", "Tropical Background")
- Place a file named
prompt.txtinside each subfolder with your desired AI instructions - Put the images you want enhanced that way into the corresponding folder
Example prompts:
- "natural realistic colorization of vintage black and white family photo, high detail"
- "add colorful birthday balloons, cake, joyful party atmosphere, keep subject realistic"
- "remove original background, place person on beautiful tropical beach at sunset"

Before and after examples using AI:
It depends on:
- Number of images
- Whether AI enhancement is enabled
- Image resolution
- Your internet speed (for AI processing)
Basic RAW→JPEG conversion is very fast. AI enhancements can take 10–60+ seconds per image depending on complexity. Large batches may run for hours — keep your computer on.
Yes! You can cancel at any time. Images that are already being processed will finish, but no new ones will start.
Windows: This is common for new/indie software. Click "More info" → "Run anyway".
Mac: Right-click → Open (or go to System Settings → Privacy & Security → Allow). You may need to enter your password once.

At present, the application supports the following formats: .jpg, .jpeg, .png, .heic, .cr2, .cr3, .nef, .arw, .rw2, .orf, .dng. We are actively working on adding support for more formats in future updates.
